Diamond DA20, DA40, DA42, DA50 and DA62 Maintenance
Diamond Experts · Pompano Beach Airpark (KPMP)
Every Diamond model from the DA20 to the DA62 is on Islander Aviation's FAA-accepted capability list, and so are the engines they fly with: Austro Engine AE300 and AE330, Continental CD-135/155/170/300 diesels and the Lycoming IO-360-M1A. That makes Islander one of the few South Florida shops where a Diamond's airframe and diesel engine are both repair-station work.

Inspection and Engine Programme
Diamond airframes follow a 12-month annual with 100- and 200-hour items; the diesel engines add their own gearbox and life-limited-part schedules.
| Item | Interval | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Annual inspection | 12 months | Per the Diamond Airplane Maintenance Manual |
| 100- / 200-hour items | 100 / 200 hours | Airframe and systems checks between annuals |
| Austro / Continental diesel inspections | 100 hours and per engine manual | Oil and coolant service, gearbox inspection, FADEC fault memory, life-limited parts |
| Pitot-static / transponder | 24 months | FAR 91.411 and 91.413 certifications |
Engine overhaul and TBR (time between replacement) engine exchanges are coordinated with the engine manufacturer's network; they are not performed under our certificate.

Part 145 and Part 91 — who signs the work
Under our Part 145 certificate on this page: Diamond DA-20, DA-40, DA-42, DA-50 and DA-62 series — annual, 100-hour, periodic and conditional inspections; airframe minor and major repair and alteration; powerplant and propeller inspection and minor repair; component inspection and minor repair. Austro Engine E4P-C and AE E4-A/B/C (TAE 125), Continental CD-135/155/170/300 and IO-240, and Lycoming IO-360-M1A engines — inspections, minor repair and alteration under the engine rating. Not under the certificate: overhaul, propeller alteration, powerplant major repair.
Islander Aviation (BMV Air Center LLC) is an FAA Part 145 repair station, certificate 6KFR481C, with limited airframe, engine, instrument and radio ratings. Our FAA-accepted Capability List (Rev. 8, 29 September 2026) covers airframe inspections, repairs and alterations on Beechcraft, Piper, Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond Aircraft, Epic Aircraft aircraft; inspections and minor repair of Lycoming, Continental, Austro Engine, Pratt & Whitney Canada engines; and pitot-static, transponder, ADS-B and ELT certifications on the listed makes. Overhauls are not performed under the certificate.
Anything not covered under our Part 145 capability list — King Air, Citation and Pilatus airframes, for example — is still performed by Islander Aviation, as Part 91 maintenance signed off by our FAA-certificated A&P and IA mechanics. Engine overhauls are coordinated with a specialist engine shop.
