Accessibility

Islander Aviation wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the page, or need captions.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance for websites.
What that means on this site
- Every image has a text alternative.
- Menus, forms, the shop and the cart can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the item you are on is always visibly highlighted.
- A “Skip to content” link is the first thing the keyboard reaches on every page.
- Text meets the WCAG contrast requirement against its background.
- Forms have visible labels, and confirmations and error messages are announced to screen readers.
- Pages have descriptive titles and work at mobile widths without sideways scrolling.
- Nothing flashes, moves or plays automatically.
Known limitations
- The facility video on the Meet the Team page is shown as a still image while a captioned version is prepared.
- Checkout is handled by Stripe, and some links lead to other companies’ sites (scheduling, flight-club reservations, social media). We do not control the accessibility of those pages.
