Islander Aviation holds OEM authorization as a Continental Diesel service center, and both diesel engine families — Continental CD-135/155/170/300 and Austro Engine AE300/AE330 (including the earlier Thielert/TAE 125) — are on our FAA-accepted capability list under the limited engine rating. If you fly a diesel Diamond, Cessna 172 JT-A or Piper Archer DX in South Florida, this is the shop.

Diesel Engine Schedule
Diesel engines carry hard replacement times on several components, separate from the engine's overall TBR. Knowing the numbers before the annual avoids surprises.

Part 145 and Part 91 — who signs the work
Under our Part 145 certificate on this page: Continental CD-135, CD-155, CD-170, CD-300 and IO-240; Austro Engine E4P-C and AE E4-A/B/C (TAE 125-01, 125-02-99, 125-02-114) — annual, 100-hour and periodic inspections; powerplant inspection, minor repair and minor alteration under the limited engine rating. Not under the certificate: engine overhaul.
Islander Aviation (BMV Air Center LLC) is an FAA Part 145 repair station, certificate 6KFR481C, with limited airframe, engine, instrument and radio ratings. Our FAA-accepted Capability List (Rev. 8, 29 September 2026) covers airframe inspections, repairs and alterations on Beechcraft, Piper, Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond Aircraft, Epic Aircraft aircraft; inspections and minor repair of Lycoming, Continental, Austro Engine, Pratt & Whitney Canada engines; and pitot-static, transponder, ADS-B and ELT certifications on the listed makes. Overhauls are not performed under the certificate.
Anything not covered under our Part 145 capability list — King Air, Citation and Pilatus airframes, for example — is still performed by Islander Aviation, as Part 91 maintenance signed off by our FAA-certificated A&P and IA mechanics. Engine overhauls are coordinated with a specialist engine shop.
